§ 17.32.030. Street classification.

    Street types. All existing and proposed streets in the City shall be classified as one (1) of the following:

    1.

    Principal arterial.

    2.

    Minor arterial.

    3.

    Collector.

    4.

    Local.

    B.

    Classification of existing streets. Existing streets are classified as documented in the "Great Falls Area Transportation Plan", as may be amended from time to time.

    C.

    Classification of proposed streets. Proposed streets shall be classified based on function, anticipated traffic speed, and average daily traffic (ADT). The estimates for ADT shall be based on trip generation rates from the most current edition of "Trip Generation" (published by the Institute of Transportation Engineers). Trip generation rates from other sources may be used if it can be shown that the alternative source better reflects local conditions.
