§ 8.2.010. Health authority duties and inspections.

  • A.

    The Health Authority shall have the power to enter and inspect any place where meat, game, poultry, fish, milk, groceries, or other food products are prepared, handled, or stored for public use and to inspect any vehicle transporting such products from one (1) point to another or throughout the City.

    B.

    Any person is guilty of a violation of this Chapter, if he or she in any manner:

    1.

    Interferes or attempts to interfere with the Health Authority in the discharge of duties or any person being the owner, agent or manager of any place where food is prepared, handled, or stored,

    2.

    Refuses to permit the Health Authority to have full access to such premises, or

    3.

    Attempts to conceal or remove any animals supposed to be diseased, or any food products that the Health Authority desires to inspect.

    C.

    It is the duty of the Health Authority to inspect any place where food is prepared, handled, or stored for public use at least once in every calendar year unless otherwise provided for, or as often as is deemed necessary by the Health Authority to maintain proper sanitation standards. Written or electronic record of such inspections will be provided to the owner, agent, or manager of such establishments.
